This school holidays on the 8th and 10th of October, we're taking a select group of 20 serious young athletes (ages 11-16) on a 2-day immersive strength & conditioning experience. These 20 youth athletes will learn how to maximise strength and power in the gym, run faster and be more explosive out on field, and recover like a pro at our state-of-the-art training facility. For the first time, we're running our School Holidays Performance Camp, a 2-day training experience specifically designed for school-age athletes to learn from strength and conditioning coaches with decades of experience at the highest level. Learn speed from the Olyroos Sprints & Strength coach, strength & power training from a Swans Academy strength coach, and nutrition and recovery from a GWS Giants Dietician.

Fast and explosive athletes represent the peak of athleticism. The problem is, almost no athletes get taught how to run -- they just run. Because of this, learning optimal running and sprint technique offers the best opportunity for athletes to improve their game. During this camp, we'll be teaching 20 lucky athletes how to develop the gift of speed.
There is no denying that strength and power form the foundation of an athletic body, but most young athletes never get the chance to master how they move in the gym (because sport commitments are so extensive). We'll teach the basics of mastering strength and conditioning training, and open the door to a stronger, more injury-resilient physique.
The third and final pillar of our Performance camp is establishing the right habits around nutrition and recovery. Because an athlete's performance is a combination of their fitness minus their fatigue (P = Fi - Fa), improving recovery between training and competition can often be the biggest shortcut to improved performance.

DAY ONE (TUESDAY 8TH OF OCTOBER):
MAX SPEED FOCUS
The first day of Sports camp is broken into three 1.5 hour sessions -- Max Speed on field, vertical force production in gym, and nutrition and recovery. Here's how it will run:
9:00am-10:30am: Max Speed Technique Training & Testing out on field.
10:30am-11am: Break for food and travel back to the gym (supervised walk from field to the gym is a short walk of approximately 800m)
11am-12:30pm: Gym Session, focusing on vertical force production and testing.
12:30-1:30pm: Lunch
1:30-2:15pm: Nutrition for Sports Seminar
2:30-3:00pm: Passive Recovery Strategies
DAY TWO (THURSDAY 10TH OF OCTOBER):
ACCELERATION & CHANGE OF DIRECTION FOCUS
The second day of Sports camp is broken into another three 1.5 hour sessions -- Acceleration and Change of Direction on field, Horizontal force production in gym, and a seminar on long-term athlete development. Here's how it will run:
9:00am-10:30am: Acceleration and Change of Direction Technique Training

11am-12:30pm: Gym Session, focusing on horizontal force production and testing.
12:30-1:30pm: Lunch
1:30-2:15pm: "Captailising on the Physiological Windows to Improve Speed" Seminar
2:30-3:00pm: Compression and Active Mobility
