23 OCTOBER 2021 — Bryleeh Henry makes her debut with Matildas at Commbank Stadium against Brazil.
Western Sydney Wanderers centre-forward star Bryleeh Henry made her debut with the Matildas against Brazil at a rainy Commbank Stadium Sydney on October 23rd 2021. This was the first Australian game on home soil in 18 months. The team took a 3-1 win against the visitors, in front of a crowd of fifteen thousand fans. Bryleeh took the field in the second half, to the excitement of her teammates who were up 1-0 at halftime.
Before taking the field, Optus Sport commented on Bryleeh’s appearance in the 2019 Junior Matildas team as a player in the inaugural women’s competition against the Solomon Islands on tour in the Pacific.
Bryleeh joined the Athlete Development Program in September of 2021, making use of the recovery systems and the direct access to physios to improve her performance on and off the field. After dealing with a few injuries over the last few years, Bryleeh’s access to the strength and conditioning coaches at Athletes Authority has improved her technique and given her the opportunity to perform at her peak with the Matildas.
