08 OCTOBER 2017 — After 8 years building the GWS Giants from the ground up since their inception into the AFL competition, Athletes Authority director signs as the High Performance Manager of the Parramatta Eels.
We couldn’t be more excited to share that a life-long aspiration of our very own Performance Director is coming into fruition today as we announce Lachlan signing with the Parramatta Eels as the High Performance Manager. As the Daily Telegraph reports:
“Eels Net Fitness Giant…
Look for a transformation of the Eels’ strength and fitness next ear with the club poaching GWS AFL club high performance manager Lachlan Wilmot.
Wilmot will switch codes to oversee Parramatta’s entire NRL performance program — beginning early next month.
No doubt rival clubs will be watching with interest to assess the impact an AFL knowledge-based coach has on the NRL.
The opening for Wilmot at the Eels emerged as a result of legendary trainer Ronnie Palmer moving to Wests’ Tigers with Ivan Cleary.”
After 8 years at the Giants which has seen them rise to two preliminary finals in their young history, Lachlan’s expertise in systems design and implementation has put a big price on his head, and the Eels’ are happy to make the investment.
Lachlan will still maintain his responsibilities at AA overseeing the performance program, finding a way to balance the needs of both roles.
