JULES DE ANGELIS CELEBRATES FIRST FULL SEASON BACK AFTER 3 SEASONS OUT OF THE GAME

28 SEPTEMBER 2020 -- Young Matilda Jules De Angelis Is Back To Full Strength After Completing A Full Season with APIA FC in the NPL 3 years After Rupturing Her ACL In 2017.

The first season back is always the hardest - especially when you've faced the adversity that Jules' has.

In March of 2017 while in Indiana on scholarship, Jules' suffered an ACL rupture. After spending 9 months in rehab, she returned to training, only to have the graft fail again.

This is where the tenacity and resilience of Jules' started to come to light. Many at this point would have hung up the boots; but not Jules. That must be the Italian in her -- passionate about the game and religious in her commitment to overcome the odds.

Returning back to Canberra, Jules worked tirelessly with Tim McGrath from Elite Performance in Canberra, rebuilding her knee from the ground up. When we met Jules in November of 2019, she was travelling from Canberra 2-3x per week for training at her new club APIA, until permanently making the move in February where we got the chance to finish the great job Tim started.

Today marks the end of Jules' first season back. She didn't miss a game and despite APIA not making it to the finals this year, should be so incredibly proud of her effort.

With the monkey off the back, it's now time to look forward. She's got a full career ahead of her and the future hasn't looked this good in years.

Congrats Jules', you bloody well deserve it. You already know we think you're a superstar, but how you've come back from this absolutely proves it.
